Piano

A musician of rare experience — bringing a lifetime of artistry, passion and leadership to the concert platform.

John Sunderland is a pianist, philanthropist, and former senior international banking executive. While studying at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, he seriously considered a career as a professional musician before embarking on a distinguished international career in banking and finance across London, New York, Hong Kong, and Australia — holding senior executive and advisory roles at Barclays, ANZ, PwC, and Ashmore Investment Management.

Music has remained a lifelong passion throughout. In recent years he has returned to the piano with renewed dedication — performing Mozart piano concertos and Beethoven chamber works, raising significant funds for music and cultural projects, and currently accompanying celebrated Swedish soprano Elisabet Strid on a recital tour across Europe.

On Tour — 2026 / 2027
